Default Adapter for LS7 MAF on LS1 car

who makes a quality cable to run an LS7 MAF on an LS1 car? I got one from Amazon, but it makes the motor shake vigorously. They may have sent me one for LS2 to LS7.

Default MAF cable

When you say "quality cable" I assume you are looking for an adapter harness to adapt the LS7 style blade MAF to an LS1 equipped vehicle?

Do you have a three wire or five wire MAF sensor? Early LS1 engines were equipped with 3 wire MAF sensors, later ones switched to a five wire sensor that added the IAT to the MAF sensor.

Casper's makes adapter harnesses for both. Lingenfelter and others carry them.

When you say it makes the motor shake, are you setting diagnostic codes? If the harness is wired correctly you should get mass airflow and intake air temperature readings in the ECM/PCM. If that is working then it probably isn't the harness.

Do you have a programming tool or scan tool? What are the MAF and IAT readings on key on/engine off? What are the idle MAF readings? What are the short term and long term fuel trim readings?

What size duct are you putting the LS7 MAF sensor into? Have you recalibrated your ECM/PCM for the new MAF sensor? The airflow vs sensor output curves are going to be very different between the different sensors and the computer has to be reprogrammed with the new sensor curve or it will not operate properly.

So changing the harness fixed it? If so the other harness was bad then (wired wrong, terminals not seated etc).

Sounds like you just need the maf calibrated.I bought a cheap amazon adapter and didnt plug the ls1 maf plug in until I had my tuner calibrate for the ls7 maf scale and the shaking was gone and cleared the maf code.Just run the iat plugged in for now and the car will run decent with a cel on and you need to get it scaled for the ls7 maf.
