Fcar2000,
What size engine will your MSD or LSXR go on?
What other mods are planned for the car?
What will you use the car for?
The MSD seems to excel from 6500 rpm up and lose torque in the lower rpm.
Area under the curve the LSXR will probably be more fun to drive on a near stock displacement LS under 5500 rpm.
Cost should be fairly similar.
On bigger motors (400+ cubes) great cylinder heads with big cams , supporting mods and high rpm the MSD would be sweet otherwise I'd get something else for the intake.
Best wishes with the mods.
Kudos, on the apology that shows class and maturity. A+

As to the parts, etc, I literally transfered over all the hardware from the FAST to the MSD. Same rail, some injectors, o-rings, etc. I think the ported MSD was maybe $200 more than the ported Fast, but I bought the fast two years ago. Some report fitment issues, but I had none. I think that's an aftermarket head vs stock head thing. My heads have a 3/8" higher deck.
Here's some light reading for you to at least compare the two to help you determine which would honestly work better for you on a SBE 346:

I currently have a FAST LSX 90mm intake with stock LS1 fuel rails. I know that the FAST 102 requires aftermarket fuel rails, but I'm not sure about the MSD.
I think the FAST 102 can use the same injectors (SVO 42#). Not sure about the MSD.
I have a set of 243 heads that I will be getting ported at the same time as I get a new intake (port matched to the heads).
I next to never rev past 6000 RPMs, so I am leaning toward the FAST.
Down the road a few years, I'm going to get an ERL resleeved 454. Trans and rearend are already able to handle the 454, but I need a mini-tub and wider tires.

If your not going to rev past 6k you should most definitely stay with a fast. But why not rev higher? You are missing out on quite a bit of power. And I believe ERL is out of business...

I can't say for sure the MSD NEEDS an aftermarket fuel rail, but I transferred mine over. I also run 42 pound EV-1 style injectors, and they fit fine. Just need the oversized o-rings or they won't seal in the injector ports. I needed those for both intakes.
