Flowmaster Scavenger Headers I have had a 68 camaro thats been stock for about 10 years. I finally decided to put a LS in. I got a LQ4 from a salvage yard, rebuilding it top to bottom bore 4.030 4” stroke 6.125 rods, fast LSXR intake, 102mm TB. The problem Ive run into is the flowmaster scavenger headers 814115 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/flo-814115) from an article I read that I cannot even find anymore, were about as good as it gets NA, are discontinued. I can’t find them anywhere. Ive literally charged around $650 on my card then had it refunded around 20 times. I've shopped around a little bit and most everything I've found worth a crap seems to be double that. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do know I want to stick with 1 3/4"-1 5/8" stainless and not coated mild steel because I might not change anything else for another 10 years. Or if anybody knows where I could find a set that would work to.

With a 408"engine that your building you'll want at least 1-3/4" headers. Speed Engineering offers some stainless swap headers https://www.speed-engineering.com/ls...2-ls3-ls6.html hopefully I copied the right link. Look around their site they have a few options. I personally havent used them but i think I saw them used in the conversion section. Look around the conversion section and you'll find plenty of ooptions.

I actually looked at those. From what I've read the 1 7/8 loose a little HP and torque. But then the next guy will say it helped. I did go ahead and have my rings spaced for a pro charger. Would the bigger headers be better later on when thats added?

Im my opinion, you need to put the header size decision to bed and get 1-7/8 and forget about 1-5/8. These thing breathe way better than old school small blocks and there is years of research done to support what works best for these Gen 3 and up engines

Yeah I was about to say I know how to read bro! But I kept reading. Yeah after searching again looks like your right. There's been way more side by side comparisons since the ones I was reading before and they've all had no loss to substantial gains with the 1 7/8. And for the price I'll have some Texas speeds ordered tomorrow.
