Default Hooker shorty problem...O2 sensor really really close to frame...help?

I haven't been thinking much of it, but when I put my Hooker shorties in the O2 sensor wire is laying on the frame because of lack of clearance. Has anybody had this fitment issue on a 98 before? Is there a fix? Do they make a low profile O2 sensor? This is driver's side.

I have also been getting slightly lower O2 readings on that side. Is that normal with Hooker shorties with a stock Y-pipe? Did I possibly damage the O2 just slightly? Any info you guys could give me would be great. Thanks in advance!
