I don't care if they scrape over speedbumps or anything, i'm talking about a set of longtubes that will help me pick up some mph in the 1/4mi. Right now I have everything stock except for an slp lid and 3" true duals with 3" dr.gas xpipe dumped at the rear axle. Thanks in advance.

Go with the new Edelbrock Drag Victor Series headers, they sell for about $375-400 and are a stepped 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 primary, with a merge collector.
They make more power than about every header out except one with the same stepped design and a merge coll.

Expect about a 4 week back order. Give Kris a call at Scoggin Dickey, they had a free freight sale going, don't know if it's still on or not.

I haven't been following the 98-02 F-body LS1 longtube header market in quite a while but I am VERY happy with my longtubes on my 1999 SS. I bought my headers about 4 years ago and at that time they were the very best. I have the original design Grottyohann headers that I bought directly from Grottyohann Motorsports. I thought Kooks was the best design available right now, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm thinking the new Edelbrocks look like the way to go. Do those headers support out AIR systems? I've got an '02 SS.

Kooks is the best way to go in my opinion also, if you don't mind dropping some cash. Out of all the headers out there, they will make the most power, look the best, and will fit the best. If you can spend just over a $1,000.00 I can get you into a set of Kooks with an ory. Should be able to do it for less than $1,100.00. If you have to spend under a $1,000.00 we will need to look at Edelbrock or others.

With the Edelbrock headers, you can weld on the pieces for your air fittings if you need to use them. Plus they are not a bad price at $389.95 for a set of stepped headers. Now keep in mind these are not coated or stainless, they are just Black painted steel.
With Kooks I can get you the race header (no fittings) or the street header (with fittings). For $779.95 you will get stainless steel headers that will never rust, and make super power. If you plan to do something soon I can get you in with free freight
