Solid Motor Mounts and Knock???
in plannign my conversion i came across an article about how to make proper motor plates to mount up the engine. this interests me since i may be able to move the engine an additional 1-1.5 inches back in the car if it is solid mounted as well as teh additional exhaust clearance it can provide when i go to my turbo set up.
in my research i have found several people having knock problems with solid mounted drivetrains, and several who don't have any problems. is there any way to determine how much/little false noise the knock sensor will see from solid mounts?
i am planning to use the hp tuners software for tuning, is there anything i cna do when programming to get the combo working correctly or ignore false knock? is there another knock sensor i can run that is less sensitive?
thanks
tim
