Default Removed alt. now no charge?????? WTF?

Removed the alt to do my poly motor mount, talk about a bitch, but thats a diff post...

On to the problem. Hourang and I go everything hooked up, I started the car and I noticed a little rougher ide (w00t) but then I looked at my voltage, it was at the top of the red. So we changed to dirty clothes again, checked the ground strap that goes underneath it. Restarted the car, same ****. Drove it around for a while, still didn't charge. What did we miss?????

thanks
-Steve

I'm pretty sure I know what your issue is...

Did you remember to disconnect the little snap on connector on the top of the alternator before you pulled it out?

I didn't even know there was a connector there, and I accidentally ripped it out. Results were a rough idle and no charge.

Check the top of your alternator. I'm sure there will be a little black/red wire there dangling.

Good Luck..

Yea.. but most people don't see the snap connector on the very top of the alternator. It's so thin that you rip it out and don't even know it.

Take the alternator out. Remove the snap in connector on the top.

Punch out the connector.
Extend the little red line...
Solder the connector back on and reconnect.

Took us about 45 min.
