Default Spark plug gap - how much variance is acceptable?

I pulled all my plugs (tr55's) cause when I put them in I didn't think about gapping them. They all varied from .054 to .058, so I gapped them all at .055. Is this kind of variance acceptable - meaning, would having varying gaps like this hinder performance? Only 2 of them were at .055 to start with.
