Changing LOUDMOUTH exhaust note
I'm new here, so here goes my first post. I have 99 transam with a LOUDMOUTH exhaust. While it is loud its not as loud as I thought it would be. If I replace the resonator with a 18'' sweetthunder chambered muffler will it sound a lot better? Will it sound deeper? I'm getting tired of being able to hear those mustangs GT from a block away.

it dont get louder then LM as far as catbacks go. you'll want open headers via dual cutouts or true duals.
whats the rest of your exhaust setup. if you dont have LT's i guarenttee you once you get them and run an ORY it'll be plenty loud. sounds like **** but LM isnt for those who want a refined sound anyway.

I have dual 18 inch mufflers, and get complements all the time for the deep throaty sound. It sounds like a mustang on roids. It sound give you more of a deep tone and get ride of some of the rasp. But if you want it really loud, ORY is the way to go with some LTs.

I wouldnt judge the volume of the exhaust from the inside of your car. Have one of your buddies drive your car and you follow him around in another car. Then you will realze just how loud that exhaust is. I think loudmouths sound nice on a stock manifold catted car. Once you add longtubes the loudmouth will have to go. Too much rasp
