Default 90k Tune-Up and Maintenance

I have a 2001 Z28 with 90k miles on it.Yes, high mileage I know...

Anyway, I am not sure how well it was PM'ed in the past so I want to give it an all around tune-up. Besides changing the spark plugs, and changing the oil and filter, what else should be replaced or at least inspected? Also, feel free to suggest spark plug, oil, and filter types and brands...

Maybe PCV valve, fuel injector cleaner if you need, fuel filter, plug wires if they are in bad shape. Check the tranny mounts and motor mounts, they may be dry and worn. New belts and hoses maybe.

I have 85K miles on my '99 and just did the motor mounts, the stockers were pretty dry and cracked, made the engine dance around and the shifter move a bit. I still need a new tranny mount, but the poly motor mounts really settled things down A LOT!

Spark plugs - NGK TR55
Wires - Whatever you like, MSD, Taylor, etc
Oil - Mobil 1 0W40 or Castrol German Made 0W30
Fuel Filter - Doesn't matter, Delco is fine
Oil Filter - Delco is fine, or if you have a lot of money, get the K&N

I just did my car last night...it's got 80k...here's what I did.

PCV valve (AC Delco)
Fuel Filter (AC Delco)
Replaced air filter (Had poor fitting K&N, replaced with Purolator)
German Castrol 0w-30
K&N oil filter #2006
GM Top End Cleaner, should help remove build up in the engine (BTW, drive down a country road)
Disassembled MAF from ram air system & cleaned metal screen off (see K&N above)
Cleaned MAF with some electrical cleaner
Cleaned engine bay with a rag & cleaner (cosmetics)

Probably should emphasize that you want to be careful not actually touch the MAF wires...Just spray them. You may already know that. I'm not sure if it's even necessary.

How about Cooling Flush, Tranny Fluids, and Rear Fluids?? Probably should have the dealer do those though...

Sure do a coolant flush, you can do it yourself, dealer will rape you like always. Go get some orange dexcool antifreeze, drain the coolant in a pan or somewhere where it can be diposed if you care that much. Tranny fluid is a good idea too, you can do the rear end fluid too. All easily doable by yourself, but if you feel comfortable letting the dealer do it, go for it. Or you can take it to a quick lube place, they do all that crap too.

Trans Am00 - True, no factory ones.

No special additives. If you have a auburn differential you will need a bottle of their limited slip additive, if you have the torsen just get some synthetic gear oil. That's the only additive I know of.

You should have the Torsen, but the way to tell is to take the cover off, if the diff has little springs and clutches it's the Auburn, if it's all gears then it's the Torsen.

If you have the Auburn, which I doubt you do, then use regular oil, non synthetic oil!!!

Back in my day, spin the tires... If you get two tire marks, you had posi-trac.. When I lose traction in the rain here, I have an idiot light that displays "Traction"....

TransAm00 - See my thread in "Special Vehicles Section" about the ASC vs. GMMG WS6 package if interested. I was confused as well when I looked at the car. Not a factory optioned WS6...

Has anybody else run that top end cleaner?
