burnt wire on passenger side of headers???
ive noticed ever since my header install, i get a slight jerk at idle every few seconds. i have replaced my spark plugs 3 times since and my wires dont look burnt at all. i noticed a group of wires covered by a sheath on ther passenger side of the car was resting on the headers, and it had a little burn mark on it. i traced the wire to my front o2 sensor. i know nothing about electrical, so can someone help me. how do i check this, and could an o2 issue like this cause this type of shaking at idle?

is your ses light on?
if the o2 wire is burnt, it could cause the engine to do that by shorting together off and on wile the engine is running.
the only way to check the wire is with an ohms meter, if you dont have one, or know of some one that dose, then you mite have to slice the wire sheeth, and visualy check the wires, can repair the sheeth with some strong superglue.
hope that helps.

that happened to me. I spliced the wire and rerouted the o2 sensor wires behind the engine and tucked it behind the head shield on the firewall. No more contact with heat and/or problems.
I also cut and spliced in longer starter and knock sensor wires and rerouted those wires. They were sitting inbetween the header tubes- too hot!
