There are no MAC long tubes headers I know of,
they are considered "mid-length". They do improve
peak HP over shorties / stock logs quite a bit, but
do not "fatten up" the midband as much as long
tube headers would.

You will not get them past Cali smog inspection on
the up-and-up, so I hope you have an alternative
plan there.

Does anybody have info on those headers besides what kind they are???
How do they sound? And what kind of performance gains are typical for MAC's headers?

A majority of the ones on this page are long tubes http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...&vid=3&pcid=52 , the MAC's are on there too and it compares them, the long tubes are quite a bit longer, but anything is better than the stock manifolds, they will flow better and the y pipe will help alot too, and if u got them for free i say hook em up til u get something better, and if u like them keep them, or sell them and throw in some more and get LT's

Yep, those are definitly MID-LENGTH headers, not long tube headers. They sound fine, I had them for a long time and no problems. The cats however really suck, they don't flow very well at all. I'd suggest an ORY or replacing the cats if you are really worried about power.

As long as clearance isnt an issue id sell em and get some LT's if your going for all out performance. I noticed a difference when i traded my mid-lengths for jet-hot LT's.

They are good for what they are, but a Longtube setup is better.

Long tubes have a better sound. Macs open headers sound like a$$. They are not bad headers, but are still mid lengths.
