Default Deleting the EGR?

I noticed on some ls6 intakes and some of the headers you can buy, you are required to delete the egr setup. Will this hurt the car in any way? Does it make the light go on?
Thanks

No it doesn't hurt the car at all but yes it does make the SES light go on...it can be deleted with LS1 Edit though.
