All of those can benefit from a tune except pully, water pump, plugs, and tb bypass. A tune is not really NEEDED untill you install a large cam but you can squeeze out one or two horsepower if you want to tune with each of those mods

so really headers maf and T-stats need tuning or atleast some sort of toggling with the computer to make it right?
so if i wast to istall all botlons except a MAF...all id NEED to mess with would be Headers and T-stat

the wife's 99 formula has these bolt ons.
VHP airlid w/polyfoam filter
VHP MAF ends
VHP 1.89 accelerated lift rockers
VHP dual springs
Bassani optimum length headers
Borla catback
here's the dyno of it. this is with the factory tune. as you can see it runs right on the 13.0:1 a/f ratio. it just depends.

Tuning is only required after installing a new MAF. And only if you run the Delphi LS6 85mm MAF, since thats the only other MAF which has known tables for it. All the others can be run w/o tunes, the only one I would considering getting tuned by a buddy w/HPTuners would be for headers. I wouldn't blow $400-$500 on a dyno tune unless its one of those where you get free tuning for life w/it. Then when you get a cam or heads or NOS you can just roll up and get a new tune. Or you could buy HPTuners and learn to tune yourself

^ I disagree, but like I said before, every car is different. Before tuning: 12.71 @ 106.57 (hit 107.01 once). After tuning: 12.40 @ 109.75, then backed it up with a 12.44 @ 109.76.
I payed a guy with the HP Tuner software $30 for a basic tune and it made a hellava difference.

I gained on the order of 30 RWHP from a home grown tune with my relatively tame boltons. Im constangly fiddling with my tune and I keep tweaking a little more power here and there and im getting closer to perfect streetability (better than when it was new). Aside from the extra peak HP up top, the rest of the throttle positions feel crisper and more responsive.
