Engine noise at and above 2000 rpms
Last night I notices a sort of whinning, which seems to come from the engine. The best way to describe it is a very very low supercharger sound. The noise only appears at 1750 rpms and all the way up until it shifts under that. I just replaced my belt 4 weeks ago and my waterpump was replaced about a year ago. I taking the car into the shop on Saturday, but would like your help for suggestions to mention to the mechanic. The faster they find the problem the quicker I can get it back.
Thanks
Scott

I have the same thing and I think it's my power steering pump or something like that... I just let my cabin drone drown it out... Can't wait to get that bullet and fix my LM

You prob. already did, but if not, check your power steering fluid level. Mine got real loud one day, I checked it, it was barely low. I added enough to bring it to the upper level of full and it quieted back down. Don't know where it went, no leaks that I can see or find?
Good Luck!

Well I checked the pulleys and they all seem to be fine. A buddy suggested putting baby powder on the belt. I thought he was yanking my chain but I tried it. It's been 5 days now and no noise. Who would of thought that baby powder has more uses than to help a red ***.

My '02 has had that sound from day one. I took it in about a month ago because the power stearing cap was bad. You could see fluid had come out from under the cap. I will listen for the supercharger sound and see if it is gone.
