78mm FAST LSX?????

Default 78mm FAST LSX?????

I heard that an LS6 intake will only flow 275 cfm through the runners and that I need a 78mm FAST intake. My heads flowed 311 on the intake side with stock valves and I am putting 2.02 in them now. I am told that the FSAT intake will make a big diffrence on my setup. Does anyone have any input on this??? Any and all help is much appreciated.

Yea, but not the 78mm one..not worth it. The 90mm set up would be a better bet, although it is expensive

if you're gonna spend the $$$ on FAST, go 90MM. or go with a LS2 setup and save a chunk. either way, don't waste your cash on a 78mm, the results just aren't worth the $$ imho.

the ls6 intake is capable of flowing more then 275cfm. but since your trying to wring every ounce of power you can from your setup go for the 90 mm combo.

thanks guys, I was worried about the 90mm setup losing power since I have stock displacement. If that is what I need, that is what I will get. Thanks again!!!

Must....perform...search. Seriously, go to the LS2/LS7 forum and check out what happened to the guy who installed a 90mm LS2 intake and TB on a stock cube engine. It wasn't pretty.

he did make more power(on the dyno though) keep that in mind...

I saw that thread, but it sounds like there is another issue with his car. I was under the impression that the FAST intake flowed a little more air than the LS2. I aslo had a little fear of the 90mm tb being a little large for a stock displacement motor. I am thinking of a larger cam and I spin this thing to about 7100 rpm, that's why I was thinking the LS6 might be a little restricting. Oh well, more reasearch

Running a cam as large as you are, you'll definitely see gains out of a 90mm setup. Too many people w/stock displacement motors have seen gains from them for one case to make such a huge case against them. My vote still goes to the FAST 90mm in this case.

On the subject of 78mm FAST intakes (forget the FAST 90mm and LS2, definitely not applicable here), what does everyone think about it (along with a ported stock throttle body of course) on a stock internals/bolt on only car?
Worth it or just go LS6 (have LS1 intake on now with an LS6 in the basement).

I would go LS6/ported stock TB myself. Unless you have cash to burn. Unless you want to wait for the mystical BBK intake. If it is half as good as what they say, it should be impressive. But I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. I would put the LS6 on and a ported stocker. If I had the cash I would have already put an LS6 intake on already.

I would be interested in knowing if the 78mm LSX dynos more than a LS6.

In your case I would go with the LS6.

Man that sucks that you didn't make any more power I made 27 rwhp more than my LS6 setup and I'm running a smaller B1 cam with stage 2 heads and the car pull's so much harder too.

Thanks for the info man. Wish I had as much luck with this LS2 intake. I am seeing more and more good results with the LSX 90mm intake on 346's. Did you gain any torque? Mind emailing me some before n after graphs? I already have a 90mm TB and just need a good intake now.

Go with the fast 90mm intake. There is absolutely NO reason why it would lose power as some claim on a 346. If you are losing power, it is a tuning issue, and you should understand that your car needs to be retuned after any type of swap like that.
