Jet Hot Y-Pipe floor banging-00 SS M6
Hi everyone, I know that this has probably been discussed many times. I just installed the Jet Hot LT's and y-pipe with cats and the pipe is tapping on the bottom of the car at idle sometimes. Can I just squeze some fire sleeving in between the pipe/floor to prevent the banging? Any info will greatly help.
Thanks,
Jason

That looks like a good solution. How much clearance do you have at the point that hits the body? Mine is just about making contact already. I'll go in the garage and see if I could fit that brace around the pipe. If there isn't enough room do you think that fire sleeving will work?
Thanks

You can pay for the mufflex y-pipe hanger.. Or you can do it the cheap way..
Autozone $3.50 exhaust hanger (the rubber one). Just squeeze it between the body of the car and the y-pipe. Secure it with some stainless steel line. $10 fix for an annoying *** problem..

How much clearance do you have where it's hitting. Mine hits the floor board right under my seat. There is only about a 1/2" or less clearance. I was thinking if i loosened all the u-clamps and gave it a good tug, I could gain a little more clearance. I like the hanger clamp, but I'm not sure if it would help me with the limited clearance.
