Default MAF or TB (next mod)

Lid is on the way. What would I do better with, a MAF or a a TB?
Cheers

You don't ever need to upgrade that MAF until you're making some really serious power. Look for a ported TB.

Exactly the answer i needed to sway towards a TB .
Is 120.00 good for a new TSP Ported TB?
How bout 150.00 For a Shaner S2?

Any big difference in the two?
Thanks for the info.

Cheers

IMO, you'll be better off with the S3.

Both places do great work. TSP is a sponser, whereas Shaner isn't FWIW.

I've chosen the S3 myself.

You're getting a lid...
It's perfect compliment would be an exhaust.. More air in, more air out..

Is it needed at this stage? Considering it has the SS exhaust ?
* Dont get me wrong I plan on it, but was hoping to do form the headers back in one fell swoop.

Cheers

I'd get a ported tb and a cutout. But that's just my .02

Shaner is on sale right now. $100 with satin finish. I just got my polished one today and installed it. Sweet! I can't wait to take a drive in a bit. He does excellent work. My intake hisses like a **** now though. It sounds cool.

I think the sale was only through November. I was gonna pick the S3 up, but I'm just wondering how his new custom piece is going to work...

New sale, that was on F-body TBs ($125 for polished S3, shipped....sweet). New sale is $100, any TB, satin finish. It looks nicer than I thought it would. I would have taken pics, but I had to install it right away. I even got my set screw adjusted right prior to install. I thought about Bauer and Jantzer and all those other ones, but I kept hearing that they were difficult to get in touch with. Shaner responded fast...shipping took awhile though...

Janzter here. Great TB!!! Thanks Scott!

Although a MAF can show pretty good gains too, they also create lean / KR issues for many people. I would get a TB first. Then if you want to, get some MAF ends. On my car & another up here we made good gains with the ends without the headaches the electronics cause. I dropped about 1/4 sec with my Granatelli MAF, but always had KR issues. So then I swapped in the stock elcetronics & it ran the same time without any KR. Do NOT try descreening & porting your own MAF!
