Default factory header bolts to long for mac mids? help dont wanna mess up heads!

i was told to get some new header bolts from a dealership and they'd work fine... however i did find one mac header bolt in with the mac header/ory stuff i picked up.. when comparing the two, the mac bolt looks shorter!... seems the factory bolts are longer and the manifold plate that bolts to the head is thicker then the macs so requires a longer bolt? can i grind down to make same length as the mac bolts since there plate is thinner?? dont want to thread a bolt in too far and crack the heads or anything like that

Lightbulb

I thought the Macs had the same 3/8ths of an inch flanges as most other decent headers, and I know that the stock bolts work on those...maybe the Macs are actually thinner (5/16ths)?

I used the stock bolts with no problems.
