jethot lt clearance ?
I just installed some jet hot long tubes on my 99ss. the pasenger side looks great, but the drivers side i had to grind the k member and i can barley get a finger between the collector and the floor board on the drivers side. Anyone else have this kind of problem? If anyone has jethots how much space do u have between the collector and floor? thanks

Not sure how much space I have between the floorboard and the collector on the driver's side, but I can check tomorrow seeing as how my car is up on jack stands. I did also have to grind a bit on my K-member for the driver's side to clear. I also had to dent the primary closest to the heater box on the pass. side too so the primary wouldn't rest on it. Ummm, other than that, great set of headers.

thanks for the replys guys, notching the k member wasnt a problem its just the collector is so close to the floor board once i slide the y pipe on it, its gonna be real close to touching.

I didn't have any problems with the floor board or k-member. I also have my headers and y-pipe flanged. Plenty of clearance and no banging under hard acceleration either. Same for my brothers SS.

I had a problem with clearence on my jet Hots. We tried to install them, and we couldn't even get the passenger side in. It hit against the block and the evaporator box itself. We wound up not installing them.
What a PITA.

I just tried to slide the ypipe on the drivers side and i wont even begin to go on because the header is so close to the floor. Should i send them back? or will they even take them back? thanks

I had to do a little grinding on my kmember and some banging on my firewall to get the driver side up. All the passenger side took was just getting the car high enough which was 19in for me.

I had to grind mine too.
On the drivers side, before you tighten everything back up, pull down real hard, like your doing chin ups on the header/ypipe, put a small piece of 2x4 in where it is hitting while hanging on the pipes, tighten everything up and then remove the 2x4.
Works perfect and no banging... Jet Hots are really great LTs.........
