Default New C5

I just bought a 2003 50th C5 and was wanting to help it breath better. I put a Corsa exshaust with Xpipe on it and now I'm looking at upgrading the breather. I read a little on the VaraRam and everyone says it sucks for fitment. What are you other C5 guys using that actual adds to the looks and performance of the car?

Thumbs up

If and when I get a C5 I would ONLY get the Vararam as far as cold air intakes go.

When you're ready for headers you should look at the new QTP Tri Y design, they are all 304 stainless steel and really make the power according to some recent dyno charts.

I've tried the Blackwing and the Breathless rammer. The Varam was a mother to put on a friends car/he had half started it before i got there Any of those will be good choices. The Blackwing is the easiets to install and maintain. Headers are a whole nother ball of wax. Anything with a 1-3/4" primary will work well though.

I like the Vararam if only because it takes a fake visual feature and makes it work. It's tough to install, and it's tough to r&r the filter for cleaning, but with the sticker removed and rivets painted black, it looks like it could've been a stock intake.

Vararam is the best. Get it if you want the best, get something else if you want to leave a little power on the table.

Honestly wasn't any harder than installing FTRA for the first time on my Camaro.
