LQ4 80mm Throttle body swap to F-Body?
I was reading my new book, "How to build HIgh performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V-8's". When I ran across a section about swapping factory throttle bodies. The LQ4 version of the Gen III uses a 80mm thottle body that is cable actuated, basically identical to our LS1's 75mm unit. The author claims they can be easily swapped for an increase in airflow. Has anyone done this? I've been on the board for awhile but have never heard of this mod.
I know the intake is also 75mm, so I"m not sure how much of a gain there is. The same rule should apply for porting a stock 75mm unit though, and there are definite gains porting the stocker. How about porting out the 80mm unit? Might be worth is as I'm sure you can get these TB's for dirt cheap.

Never understood why people will buy bigger throttle bodies and maf's, etc, when the intake manifold is only 75 mm. If anything it'll cause turbulance and hurt power. If you must go bigger make sure you have the manifold to match.
