Default CAI vs Factory Ram Air, or both?

Firstly, I'd like to introduce myself, seeing as this is my first post on these forums.

Here's the deal; I've done some searches on this site and a couple of others, and found good info. I would also like to get some second opinions.

I have a 2000 WS6, that also happens to have an SLP CAI coming up from underneath. The box is not currently sealed off from the hood.

Unless I am mistaken, they are kind of cancelling each other out.

So, my questions are:

A) Is there any way to use them together or not? I mean, would sealing the hood to the box allow for them to work together?

B) If I can't use both, which one should I use and why?

C) What method and material should I use to block off one or the other?

At this point, what I feel like doing is keeping the SLP Cai, but also sealing the hood to the airbox. The SLP CAI looks like a pain to get rid of it, plus I'd hate to just get rid of it. I won't be getting the BG Ram Air system because rain does concern me, and even if it didn't, I'm low on cash right now anyway.

So, am I making a big mistake by keeping the SLP CAI and just sealing the WS6 hood to the airbox?

Thanks. -V

Look for a post about the SSRA a guy did some track testing with sealing the box off, and not sealing it, etc it sounds like the same situation you're in. You'll find that a good read and it'll get you on the right track. Welcome to the site and be patient you'll get responses sooner or later.

if you dont have the rubber strip just dont block it off, not much diff in performance in any, i dont have my front of my air box blocked, i'd say being you have ws6 hood you should be feeling more power than i am even, and i felt a definate power gain, but anyways, theres not much power difference if any with the box blocked or open, just install the CAI and you should be fine, dont worry bout blocking.
