Default Crank Pulley swap

When installing new crank pulley, does the pulley have to bottom out against the timing chain cover before torqing and tightening to 140 degrees?
Thanks.

Your using the bolt I sent correct? Just squeeze it up till it starts to get pretty snug. At this point your pulley will pretty far on there, the belt groves should be pretty close to lining up with the accessory pulleys.

Remove that bolt then use your old factory bolt and tighten to 240 lb ft. That is damn tight. Then remove the old bolt and install your brand new factory bolt & tighten to 37 lb ft. Then tighten an additional 140 degrees past that.
FYI I checked to see if 37 lb ft plus 140 degrees is tighter than 240 lb ft and the answer is yes so it is VERY tight if you can get a true 140 degrees I was pretty close.

Yup I'm using what you sent me and it worked great! Instead of screwing around with it for an hour or so, it took me all of 5 minutes.
Thanks!
