Default exhaust questions: open headers/ cutout

Will running open headers with the O2's in the collector cause any problems. I am going to need to get the car to a buddy's house maybe ten miles away to mate up the headers to the exhaust.

Second question. Once your car is tuned and you add a cutout, does it throw off the tuning?

im not sure about long term, but as far as giong to your buddies house, you wont mess anything up. having a cutout wont throw the tuning off. once its tuned, its tuned. the computer can only compensate for small changes that occur during normal driving. in other words, the computer wont decide to change everything if you open a cutout.

p.s. id worry about the chaos you will make going to your friends house

short term won't hurt anything. it will run pig rich though, since the o2 will be sensing the ambient air with the exhaust. and it will be loud especially at WOT, not a good loud, a "make you ears bleed" loud

People aren't kidding when they say it is LOUD. I wish I could run open headers every now and the just for fun, I guess I need a cut out.

it will be healthy loud....

i run QTP headers with an ORY and then a QTEC cutout.. opening and closing the cutout does not throw off the tuning but.. there is a 20RWHP with the cutout open vs. closed
