Simple muffler question

Simple muffler question I am looking to get a new muffler, probably Borla Pro XS. I was told that a single 2.5" in, dual 2.5" out, flows better than a straight 3" muffler when replacing a stock muffler (on my Tahoe). This sounded odd, is there any truth to this?

Well to begin with you would be going from a 2.75" pipe on your tahoe to a 2.5" pipe, that there should answer your question as to which one to get. If I were you I would buy a single in/single out 3" muffler of your choice

How loud will a 3" Borla Pro XS with the stock exhaust piping on a 5.3 Tahoe with intake? I'm really just concerned with interior resonance.
