Default E-Cutout worth it for me?

Hey I was wondering if a electric cutout would be worth the money spent performance wise on my car? Right now Im running jet hots, hooker y pipe, and a full magnaflow catback. I dont really wanna put down 200+ bucks on something that will give me a couple hp. Let me know your opinions.

Thumbs up

I've seen gains of up to 20rwhp (that's with a stock cat back...with aftermarket cat back the gains are often less of course) on the dyno simply from opening/uncapping the QTP QTEC electric cutout, I certainly think it's worth it.

There was a dyno test performed awhile back from CaptainSS. The test was performed with a Magnaflow Catback and a Cutout. The results showed +0.7rwhp with the cutout open versus closed. Basically, with the Magnaflow Catback, the cutout will not help since the Magnaflow Catback flows that damn good.

i like cutouts... reasons are that i can be obnoxiously loud or quiet by a little tiny switch on my QTEC...

with cutout open vs closed i gain ~17RWHP/10lbs TQ...

had a QTEC. picked up 11/13 on the dyno. did nothing for me in the 1/4 mile.

distance -- closed -- open
60ft -------1.97 ---- 2.07
1/4 ------- 12.10 --- 12.08
mph ------- 118 ---- 119

i picked up .3 and 3 mph taking it off and putting the basani tru-dual on over the cutout.

ok then i will. i shouldn't have bought this thing. don't get me wrong. the QTP is a great piece of equipment. nothing wrong there. just no gains. really loud inside the car. glad i got the electric so i could close it. it's really nice to pull up to some ricer flip the switch and make him crap his pants. but interior drone and noise level is one of my concerns. so, when the bassani dual came along i put it on instead. not much louder than stock. and makes better power over a stock y-pipe and open cutout. here's pics of when i had it on my car. http://www.stealthram.com/2000pontiacformula.html then click QTP cutout
