Default Normal Idle rpms...M6

What is the normal idle rpms for a M6 Trans Am.

Mine Idles around 1k, and I think thats a little high, I've checked as much as I can think of and tried adjusting the idle adjustment screw, if I lower it anymore the throttle blade sticks inside the throttle body. My only mod is a lid, and it idle at 1k before the lid. Thanks for any help.

that's high...unless you have a fairly large cam (which you don't)...i'd say normal is 750-800

Perfectly normal. The idle is set at 800 from the factory, and every M6 I have seen runs at "1000", even though the PCM says it is 800. The gauge is wrong. I wish we could calibrate it, because mine is about 200 rpms off all the way up the tach.

Yeah, they are set at 800 rpm on the stock tune even though the tach indicates 1000. My tach is off by 150-200 rpms all the time.

When I was stock, my tach read about 750-800 rpms idle.

My stock 2000 idled between 790-830 rpms. When I got my cam, I raised the idle to 875. I agree, the stock tach is not the most accurate. But mine seems to be pretty close.

800 here I'd bet the that reading is pretty accurate, but once you get on the car or rev it in neutral, the stock tach falls way behind, probably 300rpms low by the end of 1st gear.
