Default Should I use the 6.0 truck filter or the LS1 oil filter for Iron Block 6.0 408

Should I use the 6.0 truck filter (which is longer) or the LS1 oil filter for Iron Block 6.0 408ci.
Any benefits/disadvantages?

You're saying that the truck filter has more restriction and less flow?

I've always used the long filters - since my first oil change on my stock motor. IMO the long filter has more filtering area and therefore less restriction. Would also hold more junk if you happen to loose a bearing or something and could save the rest of the motor.

i use an AMSOIL SDF32 filter on my motor, and i'll continue to use one on my new solid roller motor. it is a little longer than the short filter, but not quite as long as the long filter. on my silverado i use either one that i find laying around the shop. we get pennzoil filters and their numbers are PZ28 (long) and PZ48 (short)

Doh meant PF 59, they are identicle in length. Replaced my PF59 today with the PF61 and yes its the replacement for the 59. Found that info out on the caddy board.
