Default oil temp gauge

where did you guys hook up the oil temp gauge to on the engine? Been looking under there can't find a spot.

I think that you need an oil filter plate from a corvette to do this. Or you can also make a hole on your f-body oil filter plate. Others will give you more info but I thought that I'd give you a heads-up.

Yeah you have to drill and tap the plate right above the oil filter. It looks like a small t'stat housing, it has two 10 mm bolts holding it in place. Have a catch pan ready cause you will lose a little oil. If you want more info, just PM me cause I just run a oil temp gauge on my SS last weekend.

thanks harrison. Would you happen to have any pics of it. I think I know which one it is. Its basically thye one bolted to the block and the oil filter goies to that right.

Where do you get the oil temp gauge (sending unit)? Can you buy one locally, like autozone?

No i didnt take any pics when i had it off sorry. I will give u a link u used, but WARNING the drill bit size is wrong for the auto meter 1/8 tap needed, it must be a miss print. I will look and give u the right size if u need it. Hope link helps !! Good Luck..........
