I think that you need an oil filter plate from a corvette to do this. Or you can also make a hole on your f-body oil filter plate. Others will give you more info but I thought that I'd give you a heads-up.

Yeah you have to drill and tap the plate right above the oil filter. It looks like a small t'stat housing, it has two 10 mm bolts holding it in place. Have a catch pan ready cause you will lose a little oil. If you want more info, just PM me cause I just run a oil temp gauge on my SS last weekend.
