Poly motor mounts??
Are there any disadvantages to poly motor mounts? I have heard they may cause to much vibration or false knock. Anybody with them installed have an opinion on this. I am planning to put LT headers and off road y on and don't want all the banging and clearance problems.

I have heard that the vibration isn't that much worse then it was with the stock mounts. Haven't heard them causing false knock.
My ory bangs and i have a mufflex y hanger and will try that before i get poly motor mounts.

Thanks for the input. Now one more question: since poly mounts transer some of the engine vibration to the car body is it possible this will work some bolts, fasteners, retainers, etc. loose in the body that would normally be OK with rubber engine mounts?

Poly mounts are great. I have them on the engine and trans. Nothing has vibrated loose yet. It's not much different than stock except nothing moves around like the rubber mounts allow.

They may actually eliminate false knock, if it's from
exhaust banging under load torque engine roll.
They transmit a little more idle shake to the body,
though not too bad on my stock motor. I quit noticing.
If you have a really rough idle this may be a bit more
unpleasant (but maybe you like it rough, Alice)
Some people compromise and just put one. Don't know
which offhand, I did both (er, had it done with my
K-member install).

No. No way. It's barely noticeable. As was said above, if you're mostly stock you'll never know a difference. If you have a fairly lumpy idling cam, like me, then you will feel a little shaking at idle. Not bad at all though.

I did my Driver' side - very pleased - nothing bangs with LT's, catted Y's and TSP Torquer Cam - idle nice too. And I have poly trans mount (transmits some extra vibration and noise into stock Hurst shifter) and poly TQ Arm mount and poly ends in PHR and LCA's. Good luck!
