Question Anything I should know about before I take apart my LSX 90mm Manifold to paint?

Anything I should know about before I take apart my LSX 90mm Manifold to paint? I just want to paint the gray part and since the manifold comes apart it would be perfect. But I just want to make sure I dont mess anything up while taking it apart.
thanks

I am also just painting the gray part...just unbolt it and carefully pull it apart. Just make note of the locations sealed with silicone.

If you pull it apart you need to change the rope seal in it.

Hi Folks
Wait a minute - If I remember correctly in the instructions they tell you to take it a part before you install it. So why have to change the seal unless you had it on the car and it was exposed to the cold and heat of the engine compartment.
I would call FAST before I replace anything and silicone has to O2 Safe, I used Mopar's sealant (RTV).

From Manual
Manifold Sub Assembly
Your new FAST™ LSX™ manifold is shipped
with the inner piece sealed and pre-assembled to
lower. The upper is loosely attached with (14) M6
bolts. Remove bolts and upper shell. Inspect
cord seal to insure it is still in place in perimeter
groove and runner grooves as shown (fig.14),
and re-assemble upper shell using the (6) shorter
bolts.

I'd guess that when you get it since everything is not fully "clamped" down, it's okay to take it apart. Then when you put it back together and screw it down fully it forms a seal. I don't know for sure, but that's my guess.

Hmmm...this makes more sense than changing the rope seal without ever having used the intake.
