I have a friend who has a lid on his car and there is a sound, kinda similair to a supercharger sound coming from the bottom opening part of the air box..Well i just bought a SLP lid to put on mine, hoping to get the same sound as his and i absolutely dont hear anything on mine since i put it on......My question is, is there anything i can do to make that sound.I have read some other threads on here about people saying that they have done something to the MAF and the TB. I was also told since that i had removed the silencers then i would hear it...but i dont..i have also done the free mod to the bottom of the air box........Just need some help on this.

thats easy for you to say....trust me if i had $$$$$ i would....But seriously how come his makes that noise and mine dont..I thought all lids were supposed to be same..a lid is a lid right?

his may just have some air escaping out of it making a whisteling sound.

i dont know about a supercharger sound, but on mine u can hear it suck when u rev the engine. its just an air sucking sound. a supercharger whines....and ive never heard of an airlid whining.

if u get an air lid and the super sucker ram air it makes a sort of whisteling sound because its getting so much air.

see when im riding in his car i hear some kind of whine,but on the outside it sounds like a loud whistle..He does not have a blower...

he also has LTs,cutout and a Y-PIPE with no cats.Maybe that has something to do with it...Have you done anything to the MAF or the TB? I heard about some kind of free mods that you could do to those...BTW what kind of lid do you have? Is the slp lid that i have BS?

I have a ls1 motorsports lid, and I havn't done free mods.

If you have a lid making the sound of a blower you have something wrong, lol. Besides it wouldn't make any noise at idle standing still. If you want to make the sound of what some people might think is a blower get the AMW catch can for the PCV and leave the petcock open. It will whistle like crazy.

Dude, what's the deal with wanting the supercharger sound?

"Yeah, you hear that. It sounds like a supercharger, but I dont have one." This will either A. Make you look like a dumbass. or B. Impress some chick that you lie to and say that you do in fact have a supercharger. And since she is only familiar with the power in her mom's honda accord, she will believe you. Then inturn she will tell others that you have a supercharger and word will get around to people who are capable of competing with said "blown LS1" and they will seek you out for a race. When they find out that you in fact do not have a blower, you will look like a dumbass.

Dont worry about putting money towards the "supercharger sound". Start saving now if you love superchargers so much, one day you will thank yourself. Or just start modding the way most of us do. A little now, a little later, a little more after that, a new rear end, then something big!

: on a more serious note my K&N FIPK whistles too. LOUD! I don't mind though nor do I say that I have a blower under the hood.
