Default New LS1 guy.....

How hard is it to put full length headers on an '01 Z??? Any other tips/tricks or things to look out for would be great. Everything I've worked on was older, or without all the electronics.

Thanks

not hard at all, just take your time and follow the proper steps. If you do a search on here their are tons of good write ups on installs. I had never worked on an LS1 before, got my headers got a write up from on here and had it done in a day. Not to many electronics in the way in a header install. Just remember the heads are aluminum so the bolts will cross thread easy... speaking from my mistakes

Depending on your automotive knowledge and experience, a day or two maybe. mine isnt that great so I made sure I took my time and finished it all in three to four days (i was a big time noob when I did mine and had time to just relax and work on it slowly).

Took me 9 hours with some help. The first major project I had ever tackled on ANY car. If I had to do it again, I think I could get it done in about 4-5 hrs.

Do a search, there are plenty of tips and tricks to installing headers. I can't even remember how many times I have posted what I learned on this site and the "other" site. Don't make me post it again, cause the list of tricks is long.

First major project I had done as well. Had a friend help me, and together we did in about 12hours. Nothing too technical or hard about it, just takes some initiative. As long as you can get the car high enough, there is no issue.

Took me and a friend about 8 hrs but that includes lunch and just srewing around we also couldn't get the car high enough so we had trouble on the passenger side header. I think that the total clearance from the tires to the ground was about 9in which is way to low the y pipe took some convincing too. Had we not messed around so much and had the car high enough i am sure that 4hrs would have been a good time for us.
