There are alot of people that swear by different TB's but I think a TB is kind of like a lid. Find the cheapest one you can . . . After having a ported stocker that gave me some sealing probs I went with an SLP. Im not really fond of SLP stuff; however, I had pretty good luck with it. I mean lets face it, theirs no core charge and its a 0 mileage unit. New electronics, spring, everything. If you have an early model you may or may not have to switch the blade and shaft out. In my case I did, but it was no big deal, 5 min and a drop of threadlocker. Good luck!

what ever you do, do not buy a bbk tb. I had one on my car, the throttle shaft snapped and couldn't even get them to sell me replacement parts for the thing. Yes it was out of warranty, but I expected to atleast be able to buy the parts to fix it. I am no running a stock ported tb. My car makes the same power as before with the bbk, and it is actually much smoother in opening and closing than the bbk.

Pardon my lack of knowlege.
But with all the disassembly and modification/porting work, doesn't a person have to reset the throttle position sensor or something like it when a throttle body is removed/reinstalled/replaced?
I thought I read something about using a volt meter and checking for a particular voltage at some blade position?
Or is this just a simple remove/reinstall as received?
Thanks!

check out www.portsculptor.com --i paid $60 plus mine for a core. porting done by bo white from Tuscaloosa, AL and it was beautiful job on inside and blade. we did a before and after dyno pull and i gained 12rwhp with the ported tb and adjusting my air/fuel to not be so rich on top end.
