Default *PICS* Custom ram air -- lid and FTRA are gone!

Since the TSP 85mm lids haven't been available for what seems like years now , we were forced to take a different route-- custom fab. I wanted to do this a while ago after seeing 383LQ4SS's badass setup. Huge thanks to the oxidizr, aka "The Custom Fabber" for building this for me (as well as everything else on my car) Anyway, here are the pics:

Once the pair of square filters come in Rich is going to fab up a couple boxes that mate up to the openings on the SS grille for a true ram air setup. Should be pretty efficient at 120+ mph

Tell you what... do this in ABS plastic with a plastic-welding
rig, make it a pretty DIY kit and y'alls could have a business.

How are you getting to the grill? I mean did you cut out the support behind it or did you just use those small existing holes that were there?

Yeah, the support was reinforced with steel plating welded into where it was cut, probably stronger than it was before!

I'll update with pics when it's 100% complete as well as some dyno and ATAP results.

considering it needs ram air to really work the dyno will not show accurate results... Should be about the same..

You sure you want square filters? Have you thought about velocity-stack cones? I like the pressurized box idea.

I'm interested in IAT's, I wonder if they will be lower now. I've been wanting to try something similar but i don't have the fabrication skills.
