Default questioin about hooker super comps

I just baught a pair brand new and was wondering if they will rust. They are the ones that are black. I also hear that they will begin to flake off, is this true ? Would I need to get them coated ?

A good paint will hold pretty well, but a ceramic coating would last longer.

road grime, salt, water will speed the rust process up. Youll be happier in the long run sending them to Jet Hot in Cali, or Thermal Tech in Hopewell, Va. Both do great work. I dont know of any coating places in the texas area. nice thing about the ceramic too is it lowers the under hood heat some over paint. If your on a budget, go with a good exhaust rated paint.

In my experiences, the paint always flakes off and the header rust before the ceramic breaks down. Thermal tech did my whole exhaust 2 years ago and it still looks brand new. My car never sees the street however.

There are some coaters in Dallas and Houston. Cant think of them off the top of my head, but I found them by doing a Google search.
