Default Throttle body spacers??

Being new into the LS1 world I know with my Big Blocks a carb spacer generally picked up power. Has anyone tried a TB spacer? Do they work or is it just another "trick of the week" that doesnt help?

Was it smooth bore? 3/4"? It may not be a mod that is worth anything on a stock car, but I would like to see some dyno results of a modded car first.
