Any real difference between the two? I dont have edit/hp tuners, so i cant use the GM ones cus they dont have EGR and im not driving with an SES light forever lol. So i gotta get an SLP one but there more $$ . Jw if theres any real significant difference between the 2 besides the name stamp.

TIA

forget the SLP piece of ****. the engine light isn't as bad as you think...you get used to it

seriously, try and find someone near you that has HPtuners for your year model that can help you out. you might have some luck in the pertinent regional forum. anything to avoid putting money in SLP's hands.

Ok, other than the fact that people on here don't want to give money to SLP. Is there any ACTUAL difference between the two intakes, I've been wondering myself, especially since the SLP one is cheaper?

Yes... major difference... one allows the EGR system to be hooked up to it and the other does not.

Performance wise, no. But SLP will proably tell you that it will gain 40RWHP over the LS1 intake.

there is no performance difference. the slp ls6 intake is not cheaper, there list price is the same as GM's; 399. but anybody who pays 400 for an ls6 intake in this day and age is a dumbass. you can find used ls6 intakes in the sales sections, ebay, ect.

What's the part number for the GM one that I can plug in? I know through sponsors the GM ones generally go for $440 so that's why I'd get the SLP one, it's only $400. If the list price from GM is $399 then I would get it through them. And the reason I'd buy new is that most of the ones that get sold in the for sale forum go for ~325-350. Once you add $40, coolant pipe and plugs to that, you're saving only $35 from buying a new one. I'll pay another $35 for a new part, used they just don't drop in price much which is why I would buy new. Thanks.

There is no GM ls6 intake with egr.So there's no part #.Lingenfelter sells a kit to modify a Ls6 intake but your better of getting the Slp modified if you want to keep your egr.
I know alot of people rag on Slp,I dont care for them much either.I payed more than what Slp sells the intakes for to a different sponser(Speed Inc) just so i wouldnt be buying it from them even though its there intake.

Forgive me for asking (n00b), but as I understand the SLP LS6 manifold has the LS1 EGR provisions yes? That being said, are there any other modifications needed to run an SLP LS6 IM on an LS1? Or are the other mods only pertaining to GM LS6 mani's?

And on a side note, one could simply delete the EGR system altogether with programmer correct? I was thinking EFI Live of HPTuners..?

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm

This is the GM LS6 intake, correct? Here it's listed for $381 but this doesn't include the necessary coolant lines, correct? Or am I reading what's included wrong? So even direct from them it'd be like $420 with the coolant lines, right?

To really answer the performance question, the SLP LS6 intake is a GM LS6 intake with some fittings plugged into it to keep the EGR. You could make the same thing if you could find the same fittings. If you really want to run your EGR and a LS6 intake, the cleanest looking setup is to buy the Lingenfelter adapter.

There is no GM ls6 intake with egr.So there's no part #.
When I said plug in I meant what number to put into the part search on the gmpartsdirect website. I plan on deleting EGR anyway, but SLP sells a version that doesn't have the EGR fittings too.
