Default running like crap, need all the help i can get

what else would cause a car to run like crap only in closed loop besides the o2 sensors? just wondering before i go out and spend $70 on a sensor even though it reads fine in my hptuners.

it runs good in open loop. was getting a o2 inafficiency code for the pass. o2, havent gotten that since i swapped the o2 sensor out. still runs the exact same in closed loop, like azz. none of the sensors seem out of line but ill have to check them again to be positive what the normal range is for like the map sensor and stuff.

No whiners allowed! that's damn hilarious considering what you just said.

Yes vacuum leak, exhaust leak, bad O2... can all be causes of poor closed loop running.

ok well i checked the code and it was P0135 HO2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1. so my passenger side wasnt throwing the code but i still think it is bad because i have had this code for a while and it didnt start running like *** until the pass o2 wire was dragging on the ground and then it dipped in a puddle. i repaired the wire and replaced the o2 with one of my old rear ones and no change in performance runs like *** in closed loop.

It might be because you used a rear o2 sensor. I tried the same thing when one of mine went bad. I was told that the front and rears are not interchangable. That spelling can't be right, lol. Anyway I changed out both front o2s and havn't thrown a code since, well at least untill I swaped my cam. I was also thinking you might have a bad plug to cause it to run like ****. Mine ran fine it just had the codes.

yeah but if a plug was bad it would run like *** in open loop too, its an on off switch, disable closed loop, runs good, enable it, runs like *** even just reving the motor is like someone stuck a baseball in the intake. im almost possitive its the o2 extension, well see.

Was your cars stored this winter hourang? I'm having the same problem. Closed loop, stuttered like a bitch, but in open loop it was fine.

Ran some STP fuel treatment and STP injector cleaner and it's getting better. I was told that from storing my car this winter and not using StabiFuel that I had some condensation in the tank and I'm running bad gas.

This could be it. I don't even know if this is my problem yet, but it'd probably be worth running out this tank of gas with some STP before shelling out some real cash.

Check your plugs also. After I run this tank out, if the problem isn't solved with new fuel, I'm gonna pull the plugs and check 'em out.

When you're idling, does the motor shake like an earthquake is happening?

mine shakes but i have a cam. i did store it for like a month but its been driving awesome until the o2 ext wire got screwed and i fixed it. it must be that wire, i just cant see how it could be that bad i did the best job i could and pulled the pin out of the connect and soldier the wire right to it and put it all back together, tested resistance on all the wires and it read 0.00. i think im gonna swap out my plugs anyway since ive been running on no tune for so long.
