Ya will have to reset the light by disconnecting your battery! But I would get it checked by a scan tool to see what the problem is! those pesky ses lights worry the crap out of me to!

turn the ket to the ON position then disconnect the PCM batt and PCM Ign fuses under the hood. they are in two different fuse boxes on the driver's side. Leave them off for a few minutes then put them back on and turn the key to the OFF position. Then turn the car back on and it should have turned off.

do you have any aftermarket tuning? if so change any "c" codes to "x" and see if that changes it. if not sevice vehicle usually refers to a non-emission fault ie headlight out, problem with door locks, etc

what is done to your car?

normally it goes out immediately after the problem is fixed. service vehicle codes don't come up on a scanner did this just start when the headlight went out,or has this been an issue for a while?
