Default GMMG to Hooker?

Since installing my torque converter, my GMMG is quite loud going up through the gears in in-town driving. To me, it was perfect before, but a little over the top now. I'm thinking of replacing it with a quieter catback like Hooker. Any opinions on this? Would I be giving up anything with the Hooker (besides noise)?

you'd only be giveing up noise. hooker catbacks flow as good as any around.

The Hooker does get slightly louder over time, but not as loud as the Gmmg.

You are the first i have EVER heard to complain about GMMG especially w/o LT's!?!?! How is it too much, what exactly is it doing?

Hooker will quiet it down, and it is a chambered muffler, so itll sound fairly similar.

Well, I knew I'd get hammered if I posted this but I'm really not complaining. It does sound awesome and still doesn't have any drone at cruise. It's just that the converter has made it much louder in town - the din in the cabin makes my ears buzz when the windows are rolled up. But hey - I'm an old fart compared to most of you guys.

Makes sense. Personally, I would not change it. The only time I would consider it is if I added a nice big lopey cam, or my future 455 and all I got was rasp and drone and even then I would hate to do it. Best sounding Catback on the aftermarket bar-none, hands down.
