Default banging in floorboard for exhaust clearance??

i will be having a custom true dual system fabbed up here soon. we all know the bad areas on the drivers side where the y pipe goes under. well, i was thinking about banging in some of those areas to help with exhaust clearance. is this ok as long as i dont hit any accessories on the outside? there isnt anything up above/inside the floorboard i need to be watch out for is there?

I hammered mine up in that spot to gain clearance for my exhaust and have had no problems and now have plenty of clearance.

Just be carefull around your seat studs or your seat will sit crooked.
