Power Steering Pump (DELETE)??????
I am considering removing my power steering pump from my 2000 Z28.
Will this cause any problems with steering other than being hard to steer.
I have ran a short belt before bypassing the PS Pump but i want to remove it now because i am doing major weight reduction. Can i do this without running into major problems or do i need to get a maual rack?
Thanks
dave

My car is not a daily driver it is 99 percent track 1 percent street. and it only sees the track a fewe times a year.
I know my car 60 fts awesome but it seems to fall on its face plus i have alot of tranny problems . the clutch sticks down and it also is hard to get in gear sometimes

I'm doing mine this week. You shouldn't run into any major problems. You'll either have to loop the lines at the rack, or completly drain it and plug it. If leave the fluid in and plug it I've heard that you can have some major problems. You'll also may have to remove or grind down one of the alternator bolts because the belt will hit it.

My mods at the time of 12.4 @111 mph where
Slp lts, slp y-pipe with random tech cats, loudmouth catback.
moser 9 in with 4.56 gears and detroit locker, tr224 .561 112lsa cam, LS6 intake
lid and fast toys ram air.
I built the rear suspension when i was at tech school.
Tubular rear control arms, panhard bar and i boxed the stock torque arm. all poly mounts and bushings
My car also has an 8 point cage made of mild steel 1 5/8 inch with subframe connecters i made of 2 x 3 rec tubing which actually slide into front and rear subframes and go through the floorpan.. I have alot of time in the cage , connectors and rear suspension and my car is extremely solid. Hence my 60 fts.
I was running 28 x 10.5 x 15 et drags. race weight then 3550 + lbs.
