I dont have one, but I believe the general idea of it is to keep oil out of the tb/intake. Which is a good thing.

It takes the pvc air from your engine and cleans (rids) it of oil that would have otherwise gone back into the intake manifold and combustion chambers. I have one of the early ones and they are worth every penny.

Todd at AMW is a stand up guy and they do first class work.

I just installed my AMW Catchcan and what a nice piece. It has mesh inside to condense the oil out and then, you can drain it. It fits pefectly and the optional bracket is very nice.

Here is a post I made that pretty much sums up what it is and does.

Well worth it, it keeps a few table spoons of oil out of my intake between oil changes.

http://www.accmachtech.com/pcvcatchcans.htm

They did improve the PCV, but some still had oil going in.

Thats what I thought until I did a head swap. My car never seemed to drink much oil, but my stock heads had a good amount of sludge in the intake ports at only 35k miles. So I recently bought an AMW can. Haven't opened it up yet to see how much oil I'm getting.

IMO a catch can of some type is a must for any LS1. The amount of oil these cars suck through the PCV is rediculous. AMW makes a great piece...well worth the money. I'll be surprised how much oil gets trapped in there. After you see it you'll want to run some top end cleaner and change the plugs.
