Yes. Every little mod and/or "free mod" adds up.

Basically, it can't hurt and is better than not doing it.

the benifit is not having hot coolant running through your TB, therfor cooler air going into the intake.
This & egr tube (on 98-00) cut off mod. And modified factory air box for ram air. Picked up 10HP in GM high tech magazine.

WELL.....lol realy when you do that your goin to have harder winter start ups, the coolent heats up the air and makes the engine help start up faster, it really only gives you 1 or 2 HP, i would recommend not doing it for winter times, but for summer go for it

when I had my 98 A4 I lived in the midwest (near St. louis) and I had NO trouble starting my bucket. It got to less than 12 degrees, and it started right up. It's a nice cheap mod, and like they said earlier, every little thing adds up.

It wont effect *starting* the car, just how long it takes for the engine to reach operating temp, and get the oil flowing smoothly.

LMAO!! It doesnt come into play during startup. The coolant in the radiator and motor are not warm at startup are they? And the freaking thermo doesnt open until 210 ,160 depending on what your running, but the point is that it has nothing to do with startup. Its for preventing icing while driving in those conditions. Unless your in a northern state and drive in the winter time in snow rain and freezing conditions, its a good mod.

Not quite as good as a friend I know explaining corn beef to another not so bright. He tells him they feed the cow corn to get corn beef. I laugh my *** off and let my other friend straighten him out cause I'm choking on my drink at this point.

First of all its called corned beef and corn is an old name for rock salt. But the feeding the cows corn line was a classic example of If you dont know then just shut up.

Default Some ?'s - coolant sensor

Newbie here, was wondering peoples exact advice and instructions (pics if available) to do this mod that have done it before. Having the same coolant sensor light issue.
-Just bought the car a little over a week ago, and it hasn't gone off. It goes on about 10-15 minutes into driving (when the temp reaches 210)
and will not go off.. The person we bought it from said he just changed it, when we got it, it did seem to be running pretty hot, and we checked the coolant right away, and it did seem low so we filled it, and although the car cooled off alot the light was still on, and we tried to take it off and clean it, re-adjust it, etc,.. but still nothing.
-No leaks, have filled reservoir, and recovery tank as well, water pump seems to be working fine (pinched off the rad hose while in idle and you can feel the rush of coolant)
Gonna try a coolant flush tomorrow, and I know alot of people say this sensors a p.o.s and that's gm took em out of the new ones and alot of people have just disconnected it, just wondering if and how this mod will affect/help it?
Also what is that alternative coolant to Dex-cool (someone else said it is a gold coolant, sold at or by Autozone, and if from Canada??)

I've also got a couple more questions if someone can take the time to read it and send some answers my way, it would be most appreciated, feel free to email me. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...83#post2795483
Cheers,
Kel
