Default Flat copper braided wire from O2 harness

I have a flat copper braided wire coming out of my driver's side O2 wiring harness...is this a ground? If so, where does it mount from the factory? Thanks

Matt

Yes it's a ground strap. There's probably a hole nearby...can't say I know for sure where it's supposed to bolt down. If you can't find the original location, just make sure it touches the body somewhere.

Does it reach the engine?

Yeah it has a lot of wire to it, but I've never dealt with grounds before, what are they fastened to the block/frame with?

Is the loop still attached or did the end get cut off?

It has a bare end to it.

Maybe attach a speaker wire clamp to it and attatch it to another grounding location (held to the frame with a bolt)?

Take a look around and see if the other end is still bolted onto something. Then you at least know where it went. If it's a body ground, then just get it to the ground. You could probably get a ground strap at the local auto store. I can't say I ever used a regular stranded wire for a replacement. I can't see it being a problem.

Alright it's connected with another ground connection on the frame. I don't think it fixed my charging problem though Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

charging problem...? I'm guessing you have already replace the alternator and battery hence the lingering problem. Check the battery cables, they sometimes rot then create too much of a voltage drop.
