Flat is not going to flow as well as a round pipe.. but you gotta do what you gotta do. Sometimes, that means sacrificing a few HP.

I actually read somewhere that there isnt any retriction between a flat pipe and round one. But I could be wrong.

my qtp y pipe is a piece. im never giving qtp buisness again after my cat on my y pipe blew out after 100 miles. went to barrys shop and handed him cash for their headers and y pipe and a month later they wont even sell me the replacemnt cat with the pipes on it let alone replace it under any type of warranty. headers are good but i would not recomend getting their y pipe. either way your y pipe looks awesome with that ground clearece. but doesnt it suck after paying that much for custom parts to have to pay anothe 100 bucks to get it customized?

Yeah it does really suck, if I only knew then what I know now I wouldnt of wasted the money on that piece and would of just had a custom one made from the start for about 1/2 the cost of their hunk of junk twisted up piece of metal!!!!

I think you are right. The flattened pipe will still have the same area inside. Just a change of the shape. Still smooth so it wont have any more resistance. Look at the boom tube setup. Its shaped like rectangles and its the best flowing possible.

No it wont, only if its made wider after being flattened.

i've also got QTP's and i plan on swappin my sloppy why pipe and my leaky cut-outs ( that i've had to take apart twice because the motor likes to work itself loose) for some true duals, those things have a great tone. can't complain about the headers though

Um... when you flatten it... it gets wider. The mass has to go somewhere.

Even still this is like comparing how a 2.5in exhaust compares to a 3in. I doubt there was really any power loss. Unless this guy is p/a or bigger cubed or something, etc.

I put on my QTP headers and Y last weekend. The headers were awesome. They slipped into place in a matter of seconds. The Y-pipe, on the other hand, is definitely weak. It was banging on the floorboard and killing my ground clearance at the same time. I paid $35 to get a few adjustments and welds done to it. I think if I ever decide to lower the car I'm going to get some custom TD's put on there.
