Default How can you tell if cats are clogged or bad?

Everytime that I check my exhaust tips they are black. What does that mean?

How do I know or can I tell if my CATS have clogged up or gone bad??

Thank you

For cloggee cats you will probley get an SES light. Your gas milage will go down and your car will sound wierd. Dont worry about you tips as mentioned.

and also if your cats go bad...you can somtimes look under the car at night..and see them glowing a little from being hot if they are clogged...

Only if you can handle the exhaust smell, emissions testing in your area?, and using 02 sims.

My Chevelle has duals out the back. No cats obviously. People remember me from high school by the way I smelled like xhaust
