What headers haev the best midrange? I keep hearing of kooks and QTPs are those the best? I want good roll on performance, nothing more. Should I get MACs or save up for something bigger? Is there any data that supports midrange on a h/c 346.

Most longtubes will dyno about the same. Read up on high velocity merge collectors. I believe QTP offers them. Don't get macs. They aren't bad but you can get el cheapo longtubes for the price of mac, if not less. Depending on where you live I'd get stainless QTP/kooks to avoid rust. Do you know what else you want to do with the exhaust? True duals are known for having a stronger midrange than a Y-pipe.

Thanks for the replies. I'd love to go true duals sometime, but for now all I have is stock y and a catback.

You can always do what I did. Buy and install headers and sell the cat-back, then buy duals. Dumped duals can virtually be paid for by selling or not purchasing a cat-back and not having to purchase a Y-pipe.
